Keeping visual noise low for high-quality night shots
Nightscape and astronomical photography had been considered particularly unsuitable for digital SLRs because shooting in dark conditions can easily lead to visual noise. Canon changed this perception with a CMOS sensor that features noise removal and suppression even during long exposure. Thanks to these low-noise CMOS sensors, digital cameras have become a serious option for night landscape and astronomical photography.
